mystreemr macOS app and website · Last updated 23 October 2026
mystreemr is a personal media library for your Mac. Your video files and library are managed on your Mac. When you choose to connect an outside service, the app sends the information needed for that feature directly to that service. The mystreemr developer does not run a cloud account or media library service.
What the app handles
Your media library. When you add folders, mystreemr scans them on your Mac and keeps library information such as file names and locations, titles, artwork and metadata, availability, watched status and playback position so it can display your collection and resume playback. Your video files remain where you put them unless you choose to save an offline copy. The app does not send your video files or library database to the mystreemr developer.
App settings and connection details. Settings you enter for TheTVDB, OpenSubtitles, Dropbox and Trakt, along with playback and language preferences, are stored for use by the app on your Mac. Treat API keys and account credentials as private. Disconnect a service in the app when you no longer want it connected.
Services you connect
Optional integrations send the information required to provide the feature you selected. The relevant service receives the request and may receive ordinary connection data such as your IP address.
- TheTVDB: title searches or identifiers are sent to retrieve summaries, artwork, cast and other metadata. TheTVDB handles those requests under its own privacy terms.
- Dropbox: after you authorize access, mystreemr uses Dropbox to browse and stream files you select. If you choose an offline download, a copy is saved on your Mac. Dropbox handles your account, authorization and cloud files under its own privacy terms.
- Trakt: if you connect Trakt, movie and episode playback from your library is reported to your Trakt account to update your activity. Trakt handles that data under its own privacy terms. Disconnect Trakt in Settings to stop future reports; manage activity already sent through Trakt.
- OpenSubtitles: if you configure it and search, your subtitle search and account request are sent to OpenSubtitles. A subtitle you choose is downloaded to your Mac. OpenSubtitles handles those requests under its own privacy terms.
These services are optional. You can use the local library and playback features without connecting them. Their own privacy policies and terms apply to information they receive.
Website visits
The website is hosted on a virtual private server. To deliver and protect the site, the server and hosting provider may process standard connection and request details, including IP address, date and time, requested page or asset, browser user agent, referrer and response status. These details are used for delivery, security and troubleshooting. The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to the mystreemr developer by email so they can reply to you. Do not include passwords, API keys or private media files.
Container web logs are capped at three files of up to 10 MB each; the oldest logs rotate out as new files fill. The VPS provider may separately process network and infrastructure data under its own terms and retention rules.
Retention and deletion
Library information and app settings remain on your Mac while needed by the app, until you remove the relevant entries or app data. In Manage Folders, removing a folder removes its library entries and playback history; it does not delete the media files on disk. Disconnect Dropbox or Trakt in Settings to remove the app’s saved connection and stop future access or reports. You can also revoke app authorization through the relevant service.
Information already sent to TheTVDB, Dropbox, Trakt or OpenSubtitles is subject to that service’s retention and deletion controls. Contact that provider to request deletion of data held in your provider account. mystreemr does not have a central user account or server-side library from which to retrieve or delete your local collection.
Website request logs are kept within that same rotating limit. The VPS provider may hold its own infrastructure logs separately; ask the provider about its retention periods.
Your choices
You choose whether to enable optional integrations and can disconnect them at any time. You control which folders are added to your library and which files you play. You can stop using the website at any time; your browser may also let you clear locally stored site data.

Requests about data held by an integrated service should also be sent to that service directly.
