Your library
How do I add movies and TV shows?
Choose Manage Folders in the sidebar, then Add Folder under Movies or TV Shows. You can also drag folders onto a library section. Subfolders are scanned automatically, and each folder belongs to one section.
How do I update my library?
Choose Library → Rescan (⌘⇧R). mystreemr also watches enabled folders while it is open and checks them again when it launches.
What happens if a drive is disconnected?
Items on the drive are marked Missing and kept temporarily. Reconnect the drive and rescan to restore them with their watched status and resume position.
Can I remove a folder without deleting its files?
Yes. Remove it in Manage Folders. This removes its library entries and playback history, but leaves your media files on disk.
Where do artwork and descriptions come from?
mystreemr can fetch summaries, genres, cast and artwork from TheTVDB.
Playback
Which video formats can I play?
mystreemr uses FFmpeg for media formats and codecs, including MKV, MP4/MOV, AVI, WebM, TS and FLV. Codec support depends on the FFmpeg build. Hardware decoding is used when available, with software decoding as a fallback.
Can I resume where I left off?
Yes. Playback position is saved automatically for library items. Choose Play to resume from the saved position when one is available.
How do I change subtitles?
Open the captions control in the playback bar to choose a track or turn subtitles off. Matching sidecar files and embedded text subtitle tracks appear there. To search OpenSubtitles, first add your API key and account credentials in Settings.
Can I choose an audio language?
Choose a preferred audio language in Settings → Languages. If a file has no matching track, playback uses its default audio track.
Can I play files from Dropbox offline?
Yes. Connect Dropbox in the sidebar, start playing a video, then choose the download arrow in the player. The copy is saved on this Mac for offline playback.
Features & settings
How do movie collections work?
Create a manual or smart collection with the + beside Movie Collections. Manual collections contain movies you choose. Smart collections fill themselves with movies that match their enabled rules; enabled filters are combined.
Can I change the app language?
Yes. Choose the language for controls and menus in Settings → Appearance. This is separate from the Metadata language used for summaries.
How do I connect Trakt?
Connect Trakt in Settings and authorize mystreemr with the displayed code. Playback of movies and episodes in your library is then reported to Trakt automatically. Disconnect it in Settings at any time.
What are some useful keyboard shortcuts?
⌘O opens a media file, ⌘⇧W closes the current file, ⌘⇧R rescans the library, Space plays or pauses, ⌃⌘F toggles full screen, and ⌘, opens Settings.
